How to Choose a Wheeled Backpack for Your Child
By m.Blind
School children use backpacks more than anyone else. They are often burdened with more than the required weight using their backpacks. Recent studies show that more than 3,000 children were treated for problems related to using heavy backpacks. Parents have been advised to limit the weight to about 20% of their body weight to prevent such problems. The best solution to get rid of these problems is to use a wheeled backpack.
Using wheeled backpacks they will not have to carry the weight on their shoulders. They can pull the backpacks comfortably using its handle. Before you buy a wheeled bag there are a few things you need to consider. Certain schools may not allow the use of rolling backpacks. You have to check this with the school authorities before you buying one.
Load:
Buy backpacks according to the requirements of your child. Older children may require bigger bags for carrying more items than younger children. So check their requirements and buy them accordingly.
Looks:
There are different types of backpacks which are used for various purposes. Ensure that you buy the right kind of backpack meant for students. Some kinds of backpacks used by adults may not be acceptable by schools.
Ergonomics:
Sometimes your child might have to carry the backpack on the shoulder when there is heavy traffic. Make sure that the bags have strong and wide shoulder straps which are comfortable on their shoulder. The handle should also be long enough so that the child can walk straight without any effort. When the straps are used the backpack should be at least two inches about the child's waist to avoid strain.
Take these factors into consideration so that you will be able to get an appropriate wheeled backpack for your child and he will not have any health problems carrying it to school.
